The 9th Constituency Meeting of Central Luzon Conference (CLC) gathered 770 delegates from 11 areas on January 13-16, 2016 in the campus of Central Luzon Adventist Academy (LAA). The session adopted the theme, “Arise! Shine! Jesus Is Coming!,” thebannerofourworldchurchfor this quinquennium, leading every church member for faithful end- time living and total involvement in witnessing and evangelism.
Pastor Hermogenes C. Villanueva, Sabbath School and Personal Ministries director of Southern Asia-Paci c Division (SSD) led the morning, mid-day and evening worship. With his witty anecdotes, Pastor Villanueva presentedhisexpositionsandled the congregation to the very core of God’s message. Loud amens sounded in response to the heavenly inspirations.
“The living testimonies and conversion stories he shared were a sweet-smelling aroma to soothe the longing souls,” commented a group of delegates who were re ecting on the messages.
Prayer chains prepared the hearts of the delegates for the dailysessionsandthe electionof new set of leaders.
From church representatives to denominational workers, delegates participated in the business session since day one. The plenary sessions were open to answer inquiries and consider pointsfromtheo cialdelegates after a call to discuss was made.
The presence of NPUC o cers and directors was recognized as they represented the Union leadership. They helped in assisting the daily sessions and the election process. NPUC President
Pastor Romeo Mangiliman chaired the formation of the Nominating Committee while NPUC Executive Secretary Pastor Nelson de Chavez presided the formation of the Organizing Committee; both composed of 23 lay members representing each area, denominational workers, and the chair for each meeting. The nominating committee met and presented the result to the body, which was readily accepted and approved.
“The meeting of the nominating committee was very smooth. We felt the presence of the Holy Spirit. We didn’t spend long hours of discussion. Members of the committee showed very satisfactory participation,” remarked the chair while the result of the meeting was presented.
