Year End Report: Stewardship

By Modesto M. Adap

January 2018 |

Vision: Every church member places God first in all areas of life.

To realize our vision, the Stewardship Ministries is committed to helping leaders and members develop habits necessary for spiritual growth and faithful stewardship.

The Department has been working, but not exclusively on the task of [1] promoting the Lordship of Christ into every area of life; [2] encouraging faithfulness; and [3] possessing missionary mindset through financial stewardship using the stewardship compliant education strategy.

Through this Stewardship compliant education strategy, spiritual discipline of church attendees was enhanced, relationship with God strengthened, resulting in increased givers. Personal Bible study, prayer, attendance and involvement in church activities were encouraged.

Humans as we are, we all have appetite for stories – inspiring, real-life stories. It has a unique power to stimulate the mind, touch the heart, motivate the spirit and move us to action. Stories help us better understand, capture the essence and leave imprint in o ur mind, something businesslike approach fails to accomplish. But a personal story, a personal testimony, is much more.

This year, the department held the Stewardship Summit in Missions and Conferences with the intent to encourage church members to share their life-changing experiences as a result of faithfulness, not only in tithes and offerings, but in every aspect of theirlives. These heartwarming, tear-jerking, encouraging accounts of miraculous encounters with God, told from the first-person point of view have not only solidify members’ trust in God, but have also moved others to try God, and see for themselves. God has always proven Himself faithful. We see His hand at work.

To Him be glory and praise!

Stewardship: A way of Life

That which lies at the foundation of business integrity and of true success is the recognition of God’s ownership. The Creator of all things, He is the original proprietor. We are His stewards.

All that we have is a trust from Him, to be used according to His direction. This is an obligation that rests upon every human being. It has to do with the whole sphere of human activity. Whether we recognize it or not, we are stewards, supplied from God with talents and facilities, and placed in the world to do a work appointed by Him.

To every man is given “his work” (Mark 13:34)--the work for which his capabilities adapt him--the work which will result in greatest good to himself and to his fellowmen, and in greatest honor to God. --Lift Him Up, p. 304
