Central Luzon Conference (CLC) celebrated the gift of the family as 1,479 participants from the 10 areas of CLC joined the conference-wide Family Camp on April 24 to 28, 2019 at Central Luzon Adventist Academy in Floridablanca, Pampanga.
Themed “Families for Christ,” the event focused on strengthening relationships among family members and enriching their relationship with the Lord.
The family camp aims to enrich the ties of married couples and to share parenting tips for raising God-fearing millennials and Gen Z. It is also important to discuss the importance of family connectedness toward having a deep relationship with the Lord.
"Relasyon sa Panginoon ang pinakamabisang tulay upang maging masaya at matagumpay ang tahanan... at makibahagi sa gawain,” FM director Pastor Nicolas B. Francisco explained.
Among the speakers of the plenary and breakout sessions were Pastor Jose P. Orbe Jr., Assistant to the Administration for Organizational Development and Data Privacy Officer of North Philippine Union Conference (NPUC); Pastor Rudy and Virgie Baloyo, executive secretary and administrative secretary of Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD), respectively; Dr. Miriam L. Andres, former Children and Family Ministries director of SSD; and the directors and associates of CLC.
Carrying the banner “Reaching Families for Jesus,” the camp also aimed to motivate families to reach other families through their talents and available ministries. It would also respond to the need of reaching communities where families play an integral role in its progress and development. The sessions helped parents and children address some issues they have in their family circle. Part of the activity was sharing time where participants spent some moments sharing their experiences with the Lord that made their families strong amidst trials and conflicts.
Truly, a strong church starts with a strong family in Jesus. If every member of the family would commit self to bring Jesus at the center of their relationship, healing and forgiving would take place; humility would bring in love; and hope would prepare each heart to meet Jesus.
